Match Report: VCF MESTALLA snatch late win against Nffc FC B (0-1)
oselu's last-gasp goal earned VCF Mestalla the win on Matchday 2 of the Premier League International Cup
VCF Mestalla took on AE Prat on Sunday morning on Matchday 3 in the second phase play-off of Segunda B RFEF.
The game ended in a 1-0 loss despite having the best chances. Alas, halfway through the second half AE Prat broke the deadlock in a play where E. Bernad was clearly impeded by an opposition player and was heavily protested by VCF Mestalla.
VCF Mestalla were forced into a substitution only three minutes into the game and VCF Mestalla captain was forced off the field and VCF Mestalla had to adjust their game plan.
Over the quarter-hour mark VCF started to dominate possession and arrive in the box through Fran Pérez, Jesús Vázquez and William de Camargo and Carlos Gozálbez who enjoyed a clear-cut chance by hitting it across the keeper and onto the post, then whipping it in and then an effort which went skimming past the angle.
The match finished goalless with nothing to separate the sides at halftime.
The second half followed the same script, with VCF robbing the ball off the opposition through a high press and creating chances through Fran Navarro and yet again through Gozálbez whose effort went straight at the keeper.
The home side broke the deadlock against the run of play with a wicked in-swinging cross into the six-yard area that E Bernad could quite block which gave Padilla with a goal gapping shot from twelve yards to rifle it home.
VCF Mestalla continued to dominate, came close to scoring through Ndombasi who had a one on one with the keeper but the keeper was equal to it, then through a dangerous cross which rolled across the face of goal and a dangerous William de Camargo effort inside the box.
The full-time whistle was blown and VCF Mestalla suffered an away loss to AE Prat.
